The Full Form Of DSP Is "Deputy Superintendent of Police" . It is a rank of a police officer in the police department in India. DSP is a state police officer who represents state police forces. The rank is usually above assistant superintendent and below superintendent.DSP was originally a rank only held by Indians and was equivalent to assistant superintendent . The Post of deputy superintendent of police or assistant commissioner of police (ACP) in the commissionerate system was created in 1876 as the policy of indianisation was introduced.
